A letter of application is also known as a cover letter. In this letter a candidate basically explains to the employer that why he should select you for the position you are applying and why he his qualified for that position.
A letter of application should be complementary to the resume but not a duplicate copy of it.
But we should follow some key tips when writing a letter of application.
- Must include the same information as given before in the resume.
- Try to keep your letter short as much as you can, but do not forget to include essential information
- Do not use the same letter for every job. Make a new one every time you apply for a job including the information about that particular job.
- Make your every statement clear that why are you writing this, how you heard about it and what is the job you are applying for. These things usually cover the opening of the letter.
- Make the employer to understand about your requirement of job and how you fill those requirements.
- List your personal data, qualifications and references. You may also include additional information is that is necessary for the job. What should be added in qualifications?

- Be positive and do not claim qualifications that you don,t possess.
- Try to make your letter honest and natural and avoid using repeated words, phrases and extensions.
