Why students don't show interest in studies now a days

Every one in this world is very well aware about the importance of education. But why it is important?

"Education is the key factor in building up the personality. It helps to differentiate what is good and bad. It makes you stand firm and confident in the society. It is something that you really need to be a good human being".

But have you noticed the lack of education in students? Lack of interest in studies? Though they are studying in highly reputed institutions but still they lack quality education. They are just meant to receive degrees and to get a job but not to get knowledge and wisdom. But why is this so? We are in 21 century but still have this low quality thinking.

Remember one thing "If we are the problem solvers then we are also the problem creators".

This problem of lack of interest in studies is just because of us, because of our management system, because of our backward schooling system.

I am not talking about all the educational institutions. I do agree that there are still many institutions where student are enjoying quality education, where they show their interest and strive to gain knowledge, strive to be genius not to be degree oriented.

Here I will be sharing some main points related to the cause of this problem:

• We are not giving students the choice to learn what they want because many of us are still stuck into medical and engineering, ignoring the fact that every student is not meant to be a doctor or engineer.

• Teachers are just trying to complete their syllabus instead of making their lecture effective and worth taking.

• Institutions now a days are just books oriented. They do not have any creativity in their work so that a student can really show his interest.

• Teachers are not that much qualified. They don't even have enough knowledge about their subjects. At lower level teachers just emphasize on completing their journals rather than on understanding what they are teaching.

• Students are exposed to just few opportunities. They have to select the one in which they have no interest.

As I already said we are also the problem solvers. We need to arrange maximum opportunities for students. Make them understand what they are learning rather than memorising. Let them choose what they want. Support them in their interested field. Because they will be more successful in that field. Teachers should be qualified enough. Schooling system need to be upgraded with more creativity.

Because we have to work at the stage of base development. If the base is not good, students can not survive in this digitalised world.
